The problem
The starting point was the industry's usual flow: an inherited spreadsheet and a self-contained HTML prototype (Acidome). It worked, but every quote was fragile and slow.
- Fragile spreadsheets where one error breaks every quote.
- No 3D preview: impossible to show the result to the client.
- Cuts and bevels calculated by hand, error-prone.
- No template reuse across projects.
The solution
I started from the Acidome prototype and turned it into a modern app: Vite, React 18, strict TypeScript and react-three-fiber. The math engine lives in pure, tested code and handles icosahedra, octahedra and tetrahedra with geodesic subdivision V1–V6.
It computes beams by length (±0.5 mm), compound cut angles, cover, hardware and total cost — all in under 200 ms while you manipulate the 3D scene.
Features like the Good Karma Pro axial cut came from talking to real builders. The principle: show what needs deciding and hide the math they don't need.
- Pure math engine with parity tests against the legacy.
- Interactive 3D viewer with r3f: camera, layers, exploded mode.
- Cuts, bevels and compound angles computed instantly.
- Multi-tenant SaaS with auth, plans and persistent projects.
Under the hood
Icosahedron, octahedron and tetrahedron with subdivision up to V6, sphere projection and configurable portions.
Compound miter saw angles, bevels and real lengths after connection, ready for the workshop.
Orbit camera, beam selection, layers, wood materials and exploded mode with a slider.
Cut plan with 1D bin-packing, editable BOM with prices and XLSX export in 4 sheets.
Glamping, greenhouse, event, mini-dome. A starting point in one click.
Accounts, persisted projects, 4 subscription tiers and Stripe checkout.

The result
- Installable PWA, offline mode and <200 ms performance.
- Export to PDF, XLSX, CSV, OBJ and DXF in one click.
- Continuous deployment on Cloudflare on every push to main.
- +34 unit tests, Playwright e2e and a11y audit all green.
